About the opportunity  

Reporting to the ‘Strategic Procurement Manager’, your role is to support the development and execution of end-to-end procurement strategies to primarily support Australia Post’s Fleet, Logistics and Automation/Engineering functions with opportunities to work cross-functionally across all areas of the organisation. 


You’ll also   

  • Conduct strategic sourcing projects as well as category/portfolio management development and execution
  • Develop and execute  sourcing activities including, understanding and collecting business requirements, preparing sourcing plans, undertaking open market engagements (e.g. RFx), proposal evaluations and procurement recommendations
  • Develop procurement strategies to deliver capability uplift to the organisation, reduce costs, and/or maintain a low-cost base within the business, and execute the category/portfolio plan
  • Undertake analysis including market research, benchmarking, baseline and projected spend analysis, validating and quantifying opportunities for the price, usage, or productivity improvement
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, assess supplier performance, and participate in and lead negotiations to maximize commercial outcomes
  • Develop, maintain, and influence relationships with key business stakeholders, and ensure Business Unit needs, and requirements are reflected in the category/portfolio plan, sourcing strategies, and approach
  • Negotiate and execute new contracts, contract renewals, and amendments, at times under strict and tight deadlines


About you  

  • Experienced procurement professional with exposure to sourcing practices and processes. 
  • Sound commercial knowledge and understanding, including an understanding of national/global providers, contract law, probity practices, and procedures.
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation across several categories.
  • Experience in managing and working with multiple senior stakeholders


What are we looking for?

  • Good commercial knowledge and understanding of the supply and industry for national/global providers in  fleet, fleet-related sectors, logistics and automation markets
  • Experienced procurement professional with exposure to sourcing practices and procedures
  • Sound commercial knowledge and understanding, including an understanding of national/global providers, contract law, probity practices, and procedures
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships as a trusted advisor and working with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  • Experience with Ariba Source to Contract is highly desirable
