What you’ll deliver with us 

The position will focus on software engineering best practice for Cloud Platform Engineering, with in depth experience GCP platforms and Subject Matter Expert with GCP to support other engineers. The role will:

- Take the endorsed architecture patterns and be responsible for design, build and implementation of Cloud Platforms infrastructure patterns with technical leadership in design, coding, and configuration.

- Drive the discussion, take the leadership and provide guidance to enable Australia Post to lead the industry in GCP Platform Engineering best practice and support business outcomes.

Essential Experience

Industry and Function

• Google Cloud Platform technologies, infrastructure patterns and pipelines
• Expert in Engineering solutions based on Google Kubernetes Engineer (GKE) 
• Security and compliance Engineering concepts
• Proven experience within GCP, building and supporting secure code pipelines, CI/CD, using gitlab
• 3 years plus experience developing solution in Terraform

Relationships

• 5 - 7 years demonstrated experience in developing and managing platform /infrastructure patterns and pipelines
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship building at all levels of the organisation.
• Drive new ways of working (Agile) across broader teams.

You’ll also need 

• Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/ Skills Required
  • GCP Cloud Certifications are highly desirable
  • Ideal to have other Cloud Certifications
  • Subject matter expert for GCP Cloud Platform related activities
  • 5 - 7 years engineering Cloud Platform solutions and seamless project vending/landing zone.
  • Subject matter expert for cloud infrastructure - VPCs, networks, security, RBAC, Identity
  • Demonstrate expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE ) architecture and operations
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes cluster design principals and best practices
  • Proven experience in implementing and optimising Kubernetes infrastructure at scale
  • Advanced troubleshooting and operational support capabilities for production environments
  • Expert knowledge of containerisation technologies and methodologies
  • Experienced in 2-3 software development languages, Terraform, Golang, Open Policy Agent, YAML, JSON
