Help us deliver like never before
We’re looking for a Principal Identity Architect to join our diverse, talented and innovative digital technology team who together are helping our customers and communities build a better future. Together, we design, build and maintain products, services and experiences that Australian's love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post, and you could be part of that.
We're empowered to deliver for our teams and to delight our customers. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures talented people, trusts our teams to deliver their best, and leverages modern work practices and technologies. It's an unexpectedly dynamic and collaborative culture that feels more like a start-up than a 213-year old icon.
What you’ll deliver with us
The Principal Identity Architect serves as the leader for architecture within the Cyber Strategy and Architecture team, within the Chief Technology Office. You will be responsible for customer identity as well as our workforce identity. There are two key stakeholders for the role, one being the Head of Cyber Strategy & Architecture, with whom the day-to-day reporting structure sits, and the other being the Head of Identity.
You will be responsible for representing the domain portfolio needs into all group architecture functions, meetings and governance, and for providing enterprise level guidance and governance back to the business portfolio function. Additionally, you will be a first point of technical escalation to portfolio during business strategy and planning exercises.
You’ll also
- Create relevant roadmaps for the portfolio. These roadmaps will describe the future state architecture for the portfolio and the transitional states on how to achieve that future state.
- Lead some of the IT strategy and identity architecture activity and deliverables to meet the demands and expectations of the identity portfolio.
- Ensures that portfolio projects are aligned with broader enterprise-wide strategy and architecture to ensure high levels of cohesion, consistency and reuse across the enterprise.
- Participates as a member of the architecture extended leadership team (ELT) in architecture process, working groups, council and governance meetings, as well as all enterprise-wide technology strategy activities as needed from time to time.
- Communicates with both external (e.g. solution vendors, customers) and internal (e.g. business GMs) parties to create architecture solutions that are aligned with our strategic intent.
- Maintains awareness of current Information Security standards and ensures all activities comply with the enterprise standards.
About you
We are seeking a strong communicator who can collaborate with stakeholders from all levels of the enterprise. Internally you will work with broader technology team resources on specific projects including project management, business analysts, detailed designers, HR and testers. Experience enforcing governance, consistency, reusability and maturity within both waterfall and agile projects is advantageous. Being comfortable working with extended teams including those outside of direct reporting structures is important.
You’ll also need
- Experience as a Domain, Enterprise or Principal Architect for Identity in an ASX200 listed or equivalent organisation is key. A background in Microsoft or Identity Engineering is advantageous.
- Experience within an IT transformation project or large IT modernisation programme.
- Ability to step in and produce work product, with ability to apply hands-on knowledge.
- Background working with board strategy and governance materials would be very beneficial.
- Intuitive team building, consulting, relationship management and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability delivering complex architectures for major projects to successful outcomes.
- Previously led architecture team in a transformational environment interacting with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
How we’ll deliver for you
- A great Australia Post culture and hybrid work environment
- Industry leading discounts and benefits package
